Location: Arts district, Los Angeles

Look: Wide legs & bows

Have you guys ever been to arts district in la? not just wurstkuche and zinc, but the central side? Where local artists and craftsmen have shops showcasing their work/art/love/all of the above. Stores like Dejavita, where the owner custom handcrafts cool as hell sterling silver jewelry. Right beside his shop is this huge rental space for filming, events, etc... when we went, it was rented out to this guy and his team selling the furniture that belonged to his wealthy friend who had recently passed due to addiction. We stayed for a bit, chatted, and he gave us a box of herbal hibiscus tea for the road. Central art district has flavour, personality, it has a few wrinkles, it has experience. It has real masters of their crafts supporting each other in a community environment. We also visited a shop beside the arts district co-op where the owner was busy sanding away some industrial metal that he turned into a bar stool. Everything inside that space was made from recycled and reclaimed industrial metal and wood, and needless to say, cool as f*uck.

When i look for places to shoot, i don't just look for cityscapes, or the perfect backdrop, right exactly at golden hour. I look for interesting places, places where my husband, and bella (she has to come too) can sit and have a coffee. places that will make a good story. places that have character.

interesting, huh?
